Chris Hurn is the CEO and Co-Founder of Mercantile Capital Corporation, a three-time Inc. 500|5000 company, two-time SBA Financial Services Champion, and one of the largest providers of SBA 504 loans nationwide.
He’s also the CEO, Chairman, and Co-Founder of Kennedy’s All-American Barber Club, a franchised barbershop concept with a patent-pending membership model that has perfected the “authentic barbershop experience.”
Chris spends upwards of 80% of his time doing marketing for both companies, and has developed proven strategies that drive sales for both companies, despite their very different industries and business models.
As a small business owner who provides financing for small business owners, he has a unique perspective on the commercial lending industry as well as a deep understanding of what it takes to be successful as an entrepreneur and franchisee.
Throughout his career, Chris has served in various leadership positions, including his background as a business consultant and financier with GE Capital and as CFO for the NAI Realvest group of companies. He graduated from Loyola University Chicago with two magna cum laude bachelor degrees; earned a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Center (formerly at the Wharton School of Business); and left Georgetown University Law Center after his first year, deciding not to pursue a legal career. Chris is married to his wife of 16 years, Shannon, and has two children, Julianna and Reilly.
