Frank O’Brien is constantly striving to find the balance between time-tested and emerging forms of communication. In 2008, this led to his founding of Conversation, the “New Traditional” agency.
Frank began his career in the music industry, executing high-profile campaigns for artists the likes of Kanye West, Usher and Outkast. Following his time in entertainment, Frank made the switch to marketing brands. He climbed the marketing and advertising ranks under the tutelage of some of today’s brightest minds and influential leaders while working at some of the most successful agencies in the world. A designer and developer by passion, Frank’s unique experience and skillset give Conversation a competitive advantage, as the agency’s executive ranks are unmatched.
Conversation has been recognized by several of the top award organizations in the industry, including the W3’s, Webby Awards and OMMA. This past year, the agency was recognized on Inc. Magazine’s “500/5000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies,” was named a top 10 “Great Entrepreneurial Place to Work” by the New York Enterprise Report and was featured in publications the likes of Business Insider, Forbes, Mashable and The New York Times. In May 2012, Conversation appeared on the fourth episode of AMC’s unscripted series “The Pitch,” in which the agency won snack brand popchips as a client.
Frank remains a student of the industry, always looking for insights that lead to successful strategies to put him ahead of the curve. This drives Frank’s desire to attend and participate in industry events. He frequently speaks at and moderates conferences and panels from all over the country, including IIR’s “Measure Up” Conference, the Social Media Marketing & Analytics Conference at the SYMS School of Business and Worldwide Business Research’s ProcureCon for Digital and Marketing Services. Frank is also a member of the New York Metro Better Business Bureau Board of Directors and a philanthropist for various national causes.
