Michael’s career started at Cunningham and Walsh, a New York advertising agency. His first account assignments were in Procter and Gamble’s Food and Beverage division. He worked on Folgers Coffee, Duncan Hines, Citrus Hill Orange Juice and Crush Orange Soda. P&G taught him the fundamentals of brand development and communication. His work on new products was recognized and he was awarded the Don Pepper Achievement Award in 1987.
In 1989, Michael joined Citibank and became part of its credit card products group. He worked at Citibank for nearly 5 years, spending his time developing customer relationship management and direct response programs. In 1994, he joined Arnold Communications in McLean, VA as Account Director on Mobil Oil and Chevy Chase Bank. His team and Mobil’s convenience store group successfully launched the On the Run stores around the country. His team also helped Chevy Chase Bank grow its deposit base through print and direct mail, helped “freshen” the look of the private banking group.
After 4 years at Arnold, Grey Advertising in New York hired Michael. He headed up a team of executives to build and maintain Grey’s financial services and business-to-business clients. His teams helped American General Financial Services create an integrated communication program to increase awareness among consumers and create favorable impressions among Wall Street bankers. Michael also managed the team that worked with Sprint to re-position it Business Services Division in the face of the “new” e-business phenomena. In addition, he worked on special projects with Standards and Poor, Riggs Bank and SAIC.
Two years later and over 250,000 air miles, Michael came back to Washington and opened up Kinetics MarCom with the goal of helping small and mid-sized organizations compete with larger organizations.
Michael graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT with a B.A. in Philosophy.
